Math –  We continued with chapter 4 this week discussing patterns on a 100’s chart, creating tables to solve problems, and number patterns.  We will wrap this chapter up next week with a test planned for Thursday.

English-  We’ve been doing our Stanford testing this week during our English time.  We will be using this time again next week to finish up these tests.

Reading-  We’ve used this time to do Stanford testing this week.  Next week we will begin our first literature set together, Frog and Toad Are Friends.  Look for this chapter book in your child’s backpack next week.  Vocabulary words are posted on the class website for chapters 1 and 2.

Spelling- None this week…there will be new words next week taken from the story, Frog and Toad Are Friends.  The pretest will still be on Thursday and the final test on Friday.  These words are already posted on our class website if you want a head start on them over the long weekend.

Science/Social Studies- We finished up chapter two in social studies this week and were tested over it.  Next week we’ll begin chapter three dealing with “ways of living”.  We’ll also be continuing with our animal unit in science. 

Health – We started a safety unit in health this week.  We’ve been discussing safety at home, around poisons and electricity, as well as fire safety.  We all enjoyed the visit from the St. Libory Fire Department Wednesday morning.  We’ll be continuing with this unit next week.
